Apply for This Job Sr Pastor Independence Hill Baptist Church HUNTERSVILLE, NC Posted: June 30, 2025     Job Information: INDEPENDENCE HILL BAPTIST CHURCH Senior Pastor Reporting Relationship: Reports to church and personnel team Serves: Members, Visitors, and Staff of Independence Hill Baptist Church Classification: Full time Job Summary and Purpose: The Senior Pastor is responsible for providing spiritual leadership and shepherding of the Independence Hill Baptist Church family. The Senior Pastor casts a clear vision for the church and ensures that all church ministries align to the vision. He is directly responsible for the spiritual growth and development of the staff and the congregation as well as the delivery of inspiring and challenging sermons. Additionally, pastoral care to the congregation through visits, counseling, and encouragement is an overall and overarching responsibility. Competencies and Expectations: - A born-again Christian with a heart for ministry - Growing relationship with Jesus Christ evidenced by action, attitude, and behavior - Ability to articulate and model the vision, values, and statement of faith of Independence Hill Baptist Church - Demonstrated leadership skills and experience utilizing a cooperative and collaborative style to build consensus and unity while providing spiritual and organizational direction - Recognize and utilize the talents, gifts, and skills of paid and volunteer staff to guide the church during times of challenge and change - Ability to collaborate with diverse groups across generations and varying levels of spiritual maturity, both within the church and in the broader community - Ability to use appropriate judgment, discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality - Lead by example by living a Godly, prayerful, Spirit led life, and building a healthy spiritual family Essential Job Functions: Spiritually lead and shepherd the members of Independence Hill Baptist Church - Proclaim the Gospel - Pastoral Care - Lead the church in the Lord's Supper, Baptism, and the Dedication of children - Officiate weddings, and funerals - Provide biblically grounded counseling to members of the church focusing on their spiritual growth, emotional health, and overall well-being - Provide guidance in matters of church discipline and conflict resolution, fostering a spirit of unity and peace within the church staff and congregation, and actively encouraging reconciliation and restoration when needed Preaching and teaching - Preach the Scriptures with love, faithfulness, impartiality, and integrity - Provide biblical teaching through worship, small groups, classes, and/or special occasions - Teach and equip the congregation for ministry and evangelism Vision Casting and Strategic Direction - Communicate and lead toward the vision and mission of Independence Hill Baptist Church - Preaching the Gospel in a way that motivates the church to rally around the centrality of Jesus as the ultimate center of our mission - Provide visionary leadership for all ministries of the church Organization and Administration Oversight - Actively engage with affiliated Associations to stay informed about issues affecting the church - Provide input and counsel as Ex-officio member of teams and committees - Conduct an annual evaluation and provide periodic performance updates for direct reports - Review goals, objectives, and annual evaluations of indirect reports - Communicate and seek input regularly with all members of ministry and support staff - Comprehensive responsibility for pastoral and ministry staff - Comprehensive responsibility for church finances, policies/procedures, support staff, facilities, staff/board - Serve as an ambassador for the church to the surrounding community Employment Contingencies: - Successful completion of a background check and credit check - Willingness to obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR certification    Position Information: Position Title: Sr Pastor Time: Full Time Category: Senior Pastor Salary: 80,000 -90,000 Denomination: Baptist - SBC Worship Style: Blended Church Size: 100 - 250   Contact Information: Organization Name: Independence Hill Baptist Church Address1: 10220 Independence Hill Rd Address2: City: HUNTERSVILLE State or Province: NC ZIP Code: 28078 Country: USA Map this Organization: Map Contact Email: Contact this Organization   Pastorless Churches				Post a Job
