Position Summary: The Pastor of Youth and Connections is a key role in our church, responsible for overseeing youth ministry and fostering connections within our congregation. This position requires a passionate, skilled individual who can lead, inspire, and equip others. We seek a Spirit-filled, relational, and evangelistic staff member to lead ministry teams. The ideal candidate will possess a strong spiritual foundation, exceptional leadership abilities, and a heart for young people, with a particular emphasis on the "Galvanizer" working genius described by Patrick Lencioni. Key Responsibilities: Youth Ministry: o Develop and implement engaging youth ministry programs for middle and high school students. o Build strong relationships with youth and their families. o Disciple young people. o Lead through a team of adults to teach and carry out regular programming. o Organize and oversee youth events, retreats, and service projects. Connections and Hospitality: o Oversee teams responsible for welcoming and connecting new guests. o Develop and implement a robust next steps process. o Cultivate a culture of hospitality and service. Preaching and Teaching: o Contribute to sermon series planning and preach on a rotating basis. o Occasionally teach in various settings, including small groups and workshops. Leadership Development: o Oversee and facilitate the Mark 5 leadership program. o Support and empower leaders in the Supporting Single Moms ministry. Administrative Tasks: o Create and maintain ministry budgets. o Attend staff meetings and participate in leadership team discussions. Team Leadership: o Recruit, train, and equip volunteer teams to support ministry initiatives. o Motivate and empower team members to achieve shared goals. o Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment. Additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and organization's goals. Qualifications: Strong biblical knowledge and theological understanding. Passion for youth ministry and discipleship. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proven leadership and organizational abilities. Ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers. Experience in preaching and teaching. Relevant education or experience in ministry. Proficiency in using technology, including Planning Center Online (preferred). A heart for people and a commitment to building relationships. A shared vision for our church's mission and values. Alignment with the Christian and Missionary Alliance doctrine. Desired Qualities: A proactive leader who takes initiative and works collaboratively to achieve shared goals.
