Maple Avenue Christian Church (MACC) is prayerfully looking for our next Senior Minister! MACC is a non-denominational, restoration movement congregation, located in Macomb, Illinois. MACC is a large church in our community, and it strives to further the Kingdom not only in our town, but throughout the world. The Senior Minister will shepherd and direct the congregation to live out our value statement of "Transforming People to Christ-likeness". We are looking for a leader who will share our mission to "Connect, Grow, Serve, and Share" and be passionate for our core values that state we are Created to worship God, Commissioned to seek lost people, Challenged to grow in Christ, Called to care for one another, Commanded to be whole-life stewards, Cultivated to live a life of prayer, and Crafted to serve one another.
We are seeking a dynamic individual who is a visionary leader and will be committed to preaching and teaching God's Word and proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus to seek and to serve the lost, while building up Christ-followers in their faith. This individual will assist our congregation in spiritual growth and discipling others into a deeper relationship with Christ. You will work alongside the eldership in shepherding our congregation, while leading an amazing staff of 7 individuals. Our minister will inspire ministry team leaders and volunteers in many exciting ministry opportunities.
An ideal Senior Minister will have a heart for ministry and have a passion for leading others to Christ. Our Sunday morning church attendance is averaging 230 people, with many others watching our services online. MACC has recently constructed a new 24,000 square foot debt-free addition to our existing building, which is being used for new worship space (which doubles as our gym), classrooms, fellowship area, and staff offices. We strive to use our facilities to bring individuals into the church with many exciting events.
In our 58-year history, we strive to be a church involved in outreach. MACC is known for meeting needs in the Macomb area. These outreach ministries include our benevolence ministry, offering free Thanksgiving baskets to anyone who requests food, and going out into our community on Christmas Eve to distribute free meals. We offer opportunities for the community to enter our doors with our annual Seder meal, youth events, and a fall festival for hundreds of children in our area. Missions is of great importance to us as we reach out to other ministries throughout our region, the country, and across the world.
MACC is located in beautiful Macomb, Illinois, with a population of close to 15,000 citizens. Macomb is home to the Western Illinois University and our community college, Spoon River College. We have the corporate headquarters for the NTN Bower corporation and are also proud to be a manufacturing facility for Pella Windows. Macomb also has over 400 acres of parks and recreation areas, and we are just a few short miles from Lake Argyle State Park. We also have daily train service to downtown Chicago. Our educational network includes a public school system of over 2,000 students. Healthcare is also a priority in the community with McDonough District Hospital located in Macomb.
